Lancaster’s AVC
campus held their semi-annual Transfer Fair on Sept. 15. Many students took
advantage of the Educational Planning and Advising Resources from 25
Universities. Professional academic advisors were on hand to help answer
questions on degree programs, transfer ratings and general assistance in making
a transition to a four year University as smooth as possible in addition to
sharing opportunities offered by each campus.
AVC showed their
commitment to making the transfer process a seamless one for students. The goal
of the Fair was to help save valuable time and money by providing much needed
information to achieve their degree program, guiding them through the plethora
of endless questions and decisions to discover their unique fit.
These new adventures
and opportunities came from universities such as Alaska, San Diego and
Oklahoma. For example, nursing students considering Oklahoma City University
can take advantage of their no-waitlist policy for their nursing program, with
very affordable rates.
AVC student Nick Caballero participated
in the fair. “It was pretty helpful,” he said. “My questions [were] answered by
very nice, professional people regarding transfer ratings and specific
programs."
Christopher Wheeler,
an Admission Counselor for the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a one time
resident of the Antelope Valley, is inviting students to expand their horizons
and culture. “We have over 160 degree programs to select from,” he said, “with
affordable costs even for out of state students, special federal funding available
to their University and aid for students."
